DCUC’s Defense Matters Forum to Have a New Look This Year

This year’s Defense Matters Forum, hosted by the Defense Credit Union Council (DCUC), will look a little different.

Instead of taking place in a ballroom at the Marriott Marquis Hotel, where the event is typically held in conjunction with CUNA’s GAC, DCUC plans to broadcast its annual advocacy update from the Big Whig Media studios in downtown Washington.

While the event will look different, its fundamental mission of providing a comprehensive update on the current state of defense credit union matters on Capitol Hill and at the Pentagon remains the same, said DCUC President and CEO Anthony Hernandez.

Hernandez and John McKechnie, senior partner at Total Spectrum, will co-anchor the broadcast and share an advocacy update focusing on topics that affect defense credit unions and their operations on military bases.

The update will focus on the new 117th Congress, the new administration, NCUA changes, and ongoing DoD issues, Hernandez explained.

“I am looking forward to this broadcast which is a brand-new look for DCUC,” said Hernandez. “Our plan is to break out of the Zoom format, while still presenting useful information and respecting time constraints on our credit union members and system partners.”
